CIF ... (named port of destination)
The seller’s main obligations :
- deliver the goods on board the vessel at the named port of shipment or procure the goods ;
- pay the transport charges up to the named port of destination ;
- carry out the customs formalities for the export and security-related clearances ;
- obtain at is own expense cargo insurance complying at least the minimum cover as provided by Clause (C) of the Institute Cargo Clauses (LMA/IUA).
The buyer’s main obligations :
- take delivery of the goods according to the A 4 clause ;
- carry out customs formalities for the import, where applicable.
