FCA : FREE CARRIER

FCA ... (named place of delivery)
There are actually two FCA terms :
- A4 a : the named place is the seller’s premises ;
- A4 b : in any other case (e.g. a quay, or road, rail or air cargo terminal).

The seller’s main obligations :
- if the named place is the seller’s premises :
deliver the goods by placing them at the buyer’s disposal at the named place of delivery, loaded on the means of transport provided by the buyer and carry out all export customs formalities, where applicable.

- in any other case (e.g. a quay, or road, rail or air cargo terminal) :
deliver the goods by placing them at the buyer’s disposal at the named place of delivery, on the means of transport provided by the buyer ready for unloading and carry out all export customs formalities and security-related clearances, where applicable.

The buyer’s main obligations :
- take delivery of the goods according to A 4 a and A 4 b clauses ;
- contract for the carriage of the goods from the named place of delivery.
